First Class Honours
Sea-Renity
3rd Year, 2022
Sea-Renity is an interactive sound experience that transports the user to a different location. The beach being the key inspiration specifically Tentsmuir, St Andrews. The full appearance is to link the eye to drift wood. Sitting in a circle around the table is to represent sitting around the camp fire. As you interact and touch the different elements you begin to hear sounds. Waves clashing, seagulls squawking, fire pit crackling, and grass swaying. The more of you that gathers the more sounds you hear together creating an orchestra of sound.
Sound Collection

The collection of sound being taken from Tentsmuir beach, St Andrews. This was then used and developed into a key element of our final design. Using the sounds of the beach to engulf the users into the surroundings of the beach.

You are able to see elements of our build process, the struggles and strengths during the process. Branches and wood were donated by University of Dundee Botanic Gardens. These were then shaved and sanded to give the appearance of drift wood.
